BOOK NOTES — WITH THE FPCGG BOOK CLUB Saturday, February 18th, 10:00 am The FPCGG Book Club may be few in number, but we do so enjoy gathering around as we share books we've each been reading, and then the particular book we have chosen for a lengthier discussion. We share ideas, sometimes disagreeing, many times laughing, and always richer for sharing our reading of thoughtful books. Our next choice will be The Whistling Season, by Ivan Doig; we will meet on Saturday, February 18th, at 10:00 am, in the FPCGG Library. The Whistling Season is a heartwarming tale, set in the rural Montana of 1909, told through the eyes of nine year old Paul, about his rambunctious school mates and their new schoolteacher, in their one room school house. Debbie Seufert (714-606-3480) is our leader, but you may also call Bill and Jan Tackett (714-893-4635) for more information. |
